Strategic Action Plan Goals:
ALPHA IOTA BROCHURE
If any of our members would like to have our updated brochures to share with women in education who may consider joining our chapter, please contact Joan. The brochure may help you share information about DKG-Alpha Iota
Inspirational Quote of the Month
“"How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong, because someday in your life, you will have been all of these."George Washington Carver
Consider what you can do in Alpha Iota this year. What strengths do you have that can be used "for the common good?"
We are pleased to receive the 2016-2018 Delta Kappa Gamma International Certification Seal for our website.

Notes from Joan:
Merry Christmas to everyone. I know that we
are all busy decorating, shopping, and baking
cookies. Even winter seems to be coming back for
I would like to give a Huge thank you to Linda
Edwards. Linda has volunteered to represent DKG
on the School District of Janesville’s
Early Literacy Committee. Allison DeGraaf
contacted Alpha Iota to see if someone would like
to work on this committee. This group is just being
formed. Although Linda is already a very busy
person, she said she would be on this committee as
she has a special interest in early learning. We are
excited to hear about the plans this
committee develops to meet the literacy needs of
children birth though pre-school. I hope we will
discover ways that Alpha Iota can support their
efforts. Thank You, Linda!
Delta Kappa Gamma is highlighting the World
Fellowship Program. This program helps women of
other countries in their quest for higher education
in the US and Canada. It is a way to promote world
peace through the education of women. Education
of women is one of the most successful ways to
raise families out of poverty. The World
Fellowship Program began over 50 years ago in
1946, just after World War II. How can Alpha Iota
find ways to support this program?
Have a great December and we will see you in

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are going through personal or family difficulties at this time. Please let us know how we can help!
Keep all members in your thoughts and prayers. Little things mean a lot. Keep in touch with a call or a card to members you haven’t seen or talked to in a while.
Let Bev, Linda H., Joan, or Pat know of members in need.

Grants and Giving Back
Be thinking about what our Chapter could use through writing and receipt of an Action Grant or a foundation Give Back. Information for both can be found on the Sigma State website, the Foundation Amazon Smile Fundraiser as seen on page one of this month's newsletter, or in the Action Grant box. Bring your ideas to the meeting.
Remember to ask those women who you think might be interested in joining Alpha Iota. Don't just say they are too busy. Let them decide.
GROCERY RECEIPTS FOR ROTARY GARDENS Ruth Ann is collecting grocery receipts for Rotary Gardens. Please check with Sentry, Schnucks, and other stores to see if they participate. Then shop, save receipts, give to Ruth Ann or Pearl and help fund Rotary Gardens. More information to follow.
